Day 1
We went to low tide but it wasn’t exactly low tide. I went crabbing I found a baby crab and a crab about the same size as Crabby. Then we went to the Old Town to look at markets. We had a hard time finding squares with markets. Once we found a market it was close to the place we were going to eat lunch at. The markets were sort of interesting I found stuff that I liked but we never got anything. After we ate lunch we got ice cream at the same place we had lunch. I got a flavor nobody tried before. When I got to the bottom there were chunks of what it was. When I tried a chunk I instantly knew what it was, it was crème caramel! Then we went home and to the beach. At the beach Jasmin and I hung out and watched the boys, they were getting tossed around in the waves. Lukas went under at one point and didn’t come up until he was very close to the shore. Then the boys went and did something in the sand. They almost blended in with the wall. We went home for supper and came back to the beach to watch the sun set but when we got there the sun had already set.
Day2
We went to low tide it wasn’t really low. I found one crab. When we came back mom waited for me to finish my blog (week 3). When I finally finished (according to mom) the boys were already for the beach. When we got there, instead of it being high tide it was lower than when we went to low tide in the morning. Jasmin made us go over to the right because there were rocks where we were. Then Jasmin got satisfied in the rocks and we went way over to the left and jumped off a rock. The boys came over and we showed them our paradise. They jumped off the rock a few times. Then we escorted them back to mom. We went back to jump off the rocks Jasmin cut her knee. So we went in. I helped by getting napkins from the nearest beach restaurant. While everything was happening Lukas was building a whole. We all decided to help him, when we were done it was a key to the water (they way the people [we made up] worshiped their water gods). After we were done mom took tons of pictures of it and we went home. Two hours later we came back for our walk along the beach. We saw our creation; the key (bottom) part had gotten swallowed up by the water. When we were done our walk it was just a lump of sand, we all stood on it and mom took our picture.
Day 3
We went to two parks the first one was very boring. There was this little house with a slide, and a stove inside. The second park was much more interesting. It was sort of like a jungle gym. There was a moving balance beam, a spinning thing, ropes, rock wall, monkey bars, and a ladder that led to nowhere. Then we went home Jasmin played POPTROPICA on the computer. When she was done I played. Then we went to the beach it wasn’t low tide any more. We talked in the waves; we also made a little town. Ben almost broke it when we were leaving but Jasmin stopped him!
Day 4
We went on my walk! It was awesome! I got to be the leader and push buttons on the bus, I felt so special. The walk was Castles and Fortresses. I really liked the gardens we walked through, even though we already have been through them. The third last thing on the walk was cool; it had a moat around it. Inside was a museum and if you went up stairs it was an outside balcony sort of thing with little rooms that I think they shot bow and arrows or guns through to stop the unwanted boats from coming in. We had lunch on the last thing of the walk. We also had ice cream there. When we got home Jasmin went on the computer and then we went to the beach. We went to a different beach. We went to the one next to ours. The waves were much bigger even though it was low tide and it was very shallow despite the big waves, we had so much fun. When we left mom told us that we might not go to that beach again because she couldn’t see us, and there were tons of people.
Day 5
We went to go and get a clip for me and a new plate because one broke. We found clips at the first place we went to. Mom found a plate but she wanted to keep looking. When we got home mom used the computer a lot but it wasn’t really a long time because we went to the beach. Instead of hanging out Jasmin and I wave surfed a lot. When we got out to leave, the boys went into the water to play so Jasmin and I occupied ourselves by writing stuff in the sand. We wrote ALIA [heart] LUONGO!!
Day 6
We went on Ben’s walk today. At first he got mad at us because we were in front of him. I liked all the churches, arches, and the museums (pretty much everything). I liked the cathedral museum and the cathedral’s bell tower. My favorite thing in the museum was the gold room. It was so pretty to see everything made of gold especially the gold cathedral that you put the Eucharist in at Easter. The last thing on Ben’s walk was very interesting because it was inside the arch. The museum was a printing press museum; mom thought it was cool because her mom (grandma) used to do something like it. Then we went to the beach. Jasmin and I wave surfed until mom came in then we talked to mom. When mom went out Jasmin and I teased each other until we got cold then we wrote stuff in the sand. We wrote the exact same thing as yesterday and JASMIN IS AWSOME!! Then we helped the boys finish their sand castle Jasmin helped Lukas with castle part and I helped Ben with the road.
Day 7
Beach day! We went to the beach and walked to the end. I caught one crab. Then we went home to have lunch and came back out to the beach. Jasmin and I played with the torpedo but instead of throwing it into the waves we threw it at each other and tried to catch it. Then we went home and had supper and came back to the beach and explored the rocks. We all found hermit crabs and we tried to race them. That didn’t work out so well so Jasmin dug a whole with her foot and we put the hermit crabs in the water and they moved so fast. When Jasmin picked hers up it clung to her finger and never came off. When we had to go home Jasmin’s hermit crab was still on her finger so Ben, mom, and me ran home because I needed to go to the bathroom.

Week 3-Cadiz July 17
Day 1
After settling in we went to the beach. The waves weren’t as huge as they were in the Pacific Ocean and it was much warmer. The coldness felt the same because I wasn’t wearing a rash guard. After I got too cold I went out and sunbathed. Then I went back in the water but I was alone because everyone was packing up.
Day2
We went to the Old town and went to a camera thing that we didn’t get to do in Seville, it was a good thing that there was one here too. We got to see all of Cadiz and she (the girl giving us the presentation) had a piece of paper and she put on the circular screen in an upside-down V and make boats and people go over it and she lied it down flat and picked up the people with it. When we were walking to the camera we walked through “Dino Land” and saw the last remaining dinosaurs of the world! We also walked past this huge tree called a ficus and we climbed all over the roots. We also watched the sun set on the beach. It was so beautiful and pretty. The ocean was indigo, the sky was really pink around the sun, and the sun was a really pretty orange. It was almost like the sun had drowned or the sun got swallowed by the ocean.
Day 3
We went to the place where we watched the sun set to see if the castle was opened, but it wasn’t so went and climbed on the rocks. There were holes in the rocks any size that you could think of when we were climbing down a man told us in Spanish that it was slippery so we took caution. We walked out on to the slippery rocks and slowly watched the tide come in. When it was time to leave I was heading toward the stairs and I slipped and got green stuff all over my back and my butt. Next, we went to the beach we all rode the waves and jumped them. Jasmin picked me up out of the water because she wanted me to come with her and then she dropped me. She did this several times before mom told her to stop. After the beach we went home, took showers and changed to go out and watch the soccer game. We found a restaurant that was called Hollywood and it was an American restaurant in Cadiz! The soccer game was so exciting because it was the FIFA cup final and Spain had won!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We never got to sleep that night.
Day 4
We got to go to England! It was so cool. We went on one of Hercules’s pillars. There were apes on it. We walked past the apes den on the way to St. Michael’s Cave and dad got a few pictures of us and the apes. One ape stepped on my hand. In St. Michael’s Cave there were stalagmites and stalactites there were some that had joined together and made columns. There was this one stalagmite that had fallen apart over the years of rain. In side there were rings according to the different years and the rain. When we were exiting we noticed that there were baby or small stalagmites and stalactites. When we went to the castle there was an ape sitting on the wall and the people put things up so apes wouldn’t sit on the wall. When we went inside the castle was all stairs up and none of us wanted to climb except Lukas. So he and daddy went up and mom and Ben waited at the bottom Jasmin and I went outside and she took a picture of me putting bunny ears on the ape. It didn’t look so happy. After we left the pillar we were walking back to the bus stop when we saw a SUBWAY® and we got supper there. We also met a Canadian girl there, her name was Agatha. We ate the SUBWAY® sandwiches on the bus ride home.
Day 5
We woke up and went to the low tide it was so cool because we could walk out really far and all the rocks were exposed. I got tons of shells; I got so many that I couldn’t even hold all of them so I had to leave some behind. Dad suggested that we should bring a bucket next time we go to low tide. Then we went to the harbor to take a boat to El Puerto de Santa Maria. When we got to the winery it ended up to be closed so dad led us to another one that was opened later but that one was also closed. Then we went to find a SuperSol (a grocery store in Spain). No matter how much we followed the signs we never found a SuperSol. Jasmin suggested that if they meant to put a SuperSol they would put it there. So we just took the boat back home. On the boat there were tons of waves so every time the boat went down everybody cheered. We still had time to go to the beach so we went and we brought our torpedoes with us. Jasmin and I played with it the hard way. We threw it in to the just about to crash wave and we had to dive into the wave to get it. While we jumped into the wave, it crashed and the torpedo went with it so it got washed up on shore. By the time we got to it, it had come apart into a football and a long foam stick. We usually couldn’t find the foam stick because it blended in with the bubbles. We would repeat this over and over and over again and sometimes we through it too early or too late the first time Jasmin brought it up she had gone two times in a row and both times I had burst out laughing and then a wave would come and crash on me and carry me to shore.
Day 6
We went back to El Puerto de Santa Maria and we went to the winery. It was a good thing that it was open. We went inside of it I was expecting a little house with wine inside of it with wine you could that you could taste but instead it was almost like the back yard of a house. There was a front desk and wine cellars a gift shop and even a restaurant! It was huge. I couldn’t even believe that this was actually it. I thought I was in some place magical. It looked like it was fake and someone just painted it. It was so beautiful. I liked how the wine cellar smelled. It smelled so nice like wine, it smelled sweet not bitter. I never knew that the wine could smell so sweet. I did not want to leave the cellar. When we went to the restaurant to taste the wine, mom or dad let me try there sweet Sherry. Sherry is a really sweet type of wine it tastes like maple syrup. We got juice instead of wine because we are kids. They had chips and olives to go with the wine. We had tons of chips and olives we almost finished off a whole dish of chips (with the help of other people). They had stuff to make the wine and all the tools they had used back then. After the winery we went to the castle we walked by it on the way to the harbor. This time we went in it. While we were waiting for the English tour to start mom went out and bought us giant chocolate chip cookies. Inside there was this little room that was a little bigger than a statue case. Ben had stood in it and yelled “Hello!” It was called a mihrab. There was this one room that was gated off like rooms at cathedrals and if you looked the key hole you could see a perfect view of Mary. Outside was a well and outside was also a prison but it wasn’t like an area that was gated in like a jail you would see today, because the well was actually the jail. They would throw the people in the well, usually you would break a bone or two and if you were lucky you wouldn’t and you would have a hard time getting out, you would probably die in there because they didn’t give you any food. Upstairs is wear Christopher Columbus used to live but now all what they have up there is a pretty view. After the castle we went back to our harbor on the boat. When we got out of the harbor and on to dry land we split up. The boys went to the beach while the girls went to get new bikinis. It took us along time to find bikinis. When we found stores they were usually adult stores and Jasmin didn’t like the bathing suits there. When we came along kid stores they were all closed. At last we found a store with both kids and adult bathing suits. I got one with army butterflies and Jasmin got a reversible light purple and dark purple. When we got home I wanted to show my bathing suit to dad because it was his last day.
Day 7
We went to low tide again but this time with mom because dad left yesterday. We went on this pier made out of rocks and there were tons of crabs. I brought a bucket for the shells and a guy came by and dropped a crab in there. It was huge but not as huge as the “Monster Crabs” I named him “Crabby” after a while I caught a baby crab that I named “Little crab” he was much punier than Crabby. On the way back to mom, we went past a rock I named “Slippery rock” I warned everybody to stay off then Jasmin pointed out a crab and you had to go on Slippery rock to get it, so I went on it being careful that I didn’t slip and I kneeled down reached out my hand to get the crab, then all of a sudden my legs came out from behind me and I slipped banging my knee on the rock slightly hanging over me and hitting the top of my foot on the bottom of the rock scattering a few shells and I think the shock had killed Crabby. When I got up my knee was oosing blood, so walked over to mom to show her my knee. Then we went to the tide pools and a man had caught site of my bucket and came over with a fish in his net. He wanted to give it to me and I wanted to show him Little crab but he kept yelling “agua, agua!” so when I put some water in trying not to kill Little crab. Then he started yelling “mas, mas, agua, mas!” so I put enough water for the fish. Then I found baby crab and he wasn’t dead! Then the guy came by again with two more fishes and a monster crab! When it was time to go Jasmin had stepped on a sharp rock and her foot started bleeding and it looked like somebody had died in the water. I gave all my sea creatures to a little girl who had baby shrimp in her bucket. She was surprised when she saw everything I had given her. Then we went out to a grocery store and we got pizza, cereal, juice, fruit, and soup. Then we went to a bakery and mom got bread for lunch and she got us donuts! After lunch we went back to the beach to play in the waves. I brought the torpedo out we never played with it so I ended up holding it the whole time. Instead Jasmin and I hung out and watched the boys get crashed. Then I got a head ache and I went in and sun bathed. It was a really short time at the beach.

Week 2 –Seville July 9
Day 1
After we got settled in we went to explore Seville. After a few minutes we came along some girls handing out advertizing for Flamenco dancing. It was so cool. It was like tap dancing and the Gipsy Kings (type of band); the dancing was so loud that I thought I would go deaf. I liked the dress that was made with ruffles trailing in the back. It was so pretty. I wanted that type of dress. When the boy Flamenco dancer did spins he would spray sweat all over the place. My mom and my little brother, Lukas, got hit by it. I’m glad I didn’t get sprayed by sweat. After the show my dad wanted to by one of us stomp shoes.
Day 2
We went back to the place where we saw the Flamenco Dancing to see the museum it was so interesting. There was this one room with dresses and other stuff for Flamenco dancing and there were these computer stands with the pictures of the stuff on it. If you clicked on it the TV screen in front of you, it would show you what the item was for or some interesting facts. This one red dress which had black moons on it a girl had worn during the Opening Ceremony during the Olympics. Next we went to a flight and how it works museum it was so cool. There were red buttons on the display and if you push them the thing would move. The first display was an oval shaped dish with three poles going through it. Each pole had a different shape on it; one shape looked like a piece of paper and was the last of the shapes to fall. The other shapes were a sphere and an ovoid. The ovoid fell first and a few seconds later the sphere fell. The next display was a metal thing inside a tube. Underneath the metal thing was water above it was air the metal thing was also full of air and when the air leaked out it would go up. The third display had a thing with gears and some wire and it held a little rocket ship. On the outside of the glass there was a control stick. Ben and I kept fighting over who got to drive the rocket ship.
Day 3
We went to a palace with rooms that looked the same and I ran through them spinning and sliding on the marble and tile floor. It was so fun I felt like I snuck in to a castle to dance. I also walked around through these doors and through them there were columns and on the other side was a room with a plant in the middle, then I walked through them and found a hallway that snaked off. I went inside. I walked in and out a few rooms and found myself right where I had started. We also went to the cathedral and up the bell tower there were windows on it and once you got high enough you could see the flying buttresses out two sides and the other two sides you could see some roofs with swimming pools on them.
Day 4
We decided to explore our side of the river and while we were at it, we saw a shop called Kiddy’s class I got shorts, a gray skirt, a flowered and white skirt, and a gray\brown dress\shirt. Next we went across the bridge and walked through a park we saw three play structures at the third one there was a zip line we each got 5 or 6 turns.
Day 5
We went to an art museum and there were tons of pictures of Jesus. When we went up stairs there was a picture of people grieving for a dead Matador, when we went into the next room we looked back and the grieving for a dead Matador picture looked almost real.
Day 6
We went to Expo 92 it was huge it was also windy (for once). We walked past tons of tall buildings when we were walking past this one building we heard booming that my sister and I called: the “Drums of Doom” then when we got closer to them. We saw a roped off place when we looked in we saw a deep hole and there was this huge hammer that was putting things into to the ground. Then we went home and hung out for an hour or so then we went out for dinner and a good place to watch the soccer game, the soccer game was very interesting it was Germany against Spain and Spain won 1 - 0! And now Spain is in the final for the FIFA World Cup against Netherlands, and I hope Spain wins.
Day 7
We went to two museums. One museum was about archeology and the other one was about art and culture. We went to the art and culture first; there were workshops, rooms they used, inventions, lace, and embroidery. I liked the lace and the embroidery the best. The temporary exhibit had stuff to do with the birds outside and how long they had been there they had a time line of the birds and it started around 1900 or later (I can’t remember) and it ended this year ( of course). Then we went to feed the birds some sort of seed. They were all over Jasmin as soon as she went to see what the price was. I was the first kid to hold the bag of food. Once I had it there were at least five birds on my hand that started pecking at it and one on my head (that had stayed there the whole time). Then we went to the archeology museum. They had tiles (very colourful), broken vases that they had uncovered, they had rocks with carved ancient pictures, they had statues of gods, and other things you could imagine while you were a digger under the dirt… yep they even had bones! The boys and I got guides but we didn’t give the tour (my sister did that) we used the pictures for a scavenger hunt.
After we got settled in we went to explore Seville. After a few minutes we came along some girls handing out advertizing for Flamenco dancing. It was so cool. Day 3
We went to a palace with rooms that looked the same and I ran through them spinning and sliding on the marble and tile floor.

Week 1-Madrid
July 2, 2010 Day 1
In Madrid we went to many places throughout the week, these are my seven favorite things I did this week. The first day we got here we went to a bunch of gardens my favorite garden was the tropical garden inside the train station when we went there and in front of it there was a pond with turtles in it.
Day 2
The second day in Madrid we went to the King’s Palace, I really liked the room exhibit; I liked the blue room the best it had blue curtains and the paint was almost the same shade as my own room.
Day 3
I thought that the arch was so cool because it was so huge; I loved the pretty designs and the pink flowers in the front and the back.
Day 4
Since I liked Day Four the best I will tell everything that I liked. We went to a Modern Art museum and there were so many weird and cool things I saw that I didn’t know what my favorite was. I really liked the room that had stuff made out of little toy soldiers. There was this Alien Park it was not Modern art but it looked like it and it was fun. The funniest thing that we did was feed a lot of carp, a bird, and two ducks a ham and cheese sandwich.
Day 5
Day Five was awesome because we got to get ice cream three times a day and we got to see people make potato chips. We bought the chips and ate them. Though that was a treat the thing that I didn’t like was the Metros went on strike and we walked everywhere.
Day 6
The Metros were still on strike so we took the bus to the bull ring. The bull ring was cool because the man who was giving the tour showed us were there was the best echoes that were so cool because it was the loudest echo I have ever heard.
Day 7
Yesterday I got a pretty red fan and a flowered yellow dress that really is a women’s top. When we went to go and get ice cream we went to a restaurant and I got coconut ice cream in a coconut with a little chocolate on the top and my dad got lemon ice cream inside a lemon and the top of the lemon that got cut off to put the ice cream in was on top.
